Welcome back. The time is 8:216789 its one of the most emotional sights located in heart of our nations capitol. The vietnam memorial is a tribute to those who lost their lives in that war. You get a chance to see a replica of it in oklahoma city. This is pretty interesting. Joining us now in studio b to talk about the Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall we have jeremy sparks. Jeremy thanks for joining us. Thank you for having us. Tell us a little bit about this wall. Its not as big as the other one. But its not too far off. Thats correct. Its a three quarter size replica. But it has all the names, over 58,000 men and women who lost their lives for our freedom today. All those names are listed on the wall. Any time the wall in washington, d.C. Is updated, perhaps with an mia soldier, this wall is updated as well. What is it about seeing all those names on that wall that just gets to people? It really is an emotional thing to see. It is emotional. Especially for those men and women, the vietnam veterans who actually were there and fought with those individuals whose names appear on the wall. Its a time to be able to come and reflect and to just have that solitude of being able to remember those memories and also be able to pay the respects that those lives that are represented are due. What does it do to bring it here, maybe get people accessibility they wouldnt have had before? Thats right. We realize many men and women will never have the chance to go to washington, d.C. And see the vietnam wall in washington. This is a wall that travels, will be in about 12 different cities this year. Travels throughout the country each and every year. Were honored to be able to have it coming to piedmont this year. What is it made out of it. Its a black granite. Its just like the wall in washington, d.C. Each section is eight feet tall and the three quarter size replica. Is travels on a semi trailer. I was wondering. Thats got to take up a lot of room. It does. That trailer, well be meeting it in el reno on july 1st at were going to be escorting that in with motorcycles from the vfw to piedmont with motorcycles. We had the wall here about four years ago and had over 5,000 motorcycles. Were hoping to exceed that this time. Maybe avoid that road on that day. Thats right. We wont tell you the route at this point. Sounds good. How can people see it? Its open 24 hours a day beginning on july 2nd. Thursday july 2nd at 10 a.M. Its open 24 hours a day. Free to the public. Its going to be located there at the stout field, the piedmont high school football field and again, people can turn there on northwest expressway, go north on highway 4 and follow the flags. You cant miss it. Next week, july 3rd through the 5th piedmont high, stout field. A lot of people dont have pens and paper at 1055 edmond road. On the corner of edmond road and highway 4. Thats correct. Theyre in piedmont. Excellent. Jeremy, thank you so much. Thank you. Thanks for having us out.
