 What's New in Piedmont

Hi All! My name is Mike Pierce, and I am the webmaster for the Piedmont Community Website. My day job is with Teleflora in Oklahoma City as the Director of Web Development and E-Commerce Applications. In my spare time (what little there is of it), I pursue ventures related to the development of websites and dabbling in web design. I also try to stay involved in the Piedmont community by serving as a board member on the Parks & Recreation board, acting as co-goal leader for the Community & Citizens Collaboration (C3) committee (a P3 committee) with Mary Lynn Heath, and participating as a board member on the newly formed Piedmont Community Foundation board (also an objective initiated by the C3 committee).

My commitment to the growth and prosperity of Piedmont is one fueled by interests that I suspect I share with many of you. My wife of 16 years and I have two beautiful children (although my daughter would argue that distinction - sorry sweetie, young lady): daughter - 14 and son - 8. I have coached youth soccer for a total of about 7 years between my daughter's and son's teams. I have also taken an active role in Piedmont's youth wrestling. By taking an active role in these activities/committees/boards/initiatives, I hope to somehow contribute to and encourage others to support action that benefits our wonderful town for generations to come.

As for the Piedmont Community Website... I'm definitely looking for help. The construction of the site is nearly complete. However, the key objective of this site has always been to share information and provide a place where the community feels they can effectively collaborate. To accomplish this, I need content. I need photographers (amateur, pro, either is fine), writers (for targeted perspective blogs), and administrators to ensure particular sections of the website always remain up-to-date. If you are interested in taking part, please use the Contact Us form and let us know. If you simply want to contribute pictures from time to time, you can add it to the Community Photo Album, and we will review them for addition.

So that's me... I plan to stay engaged in the development and growth of this site and other partner sites within the community. So please... feel free to send me a message or leave me a comment anytime to offer suggestions or ask questions. I look forward to hearing from you.

Take care,
Mike
